Aseem Batra
Based in Los Angeles, comedy writer Aseem Batra is the executive producer and showrunner for ABC’s “Scrubs” reboot.
Batra began her television comedy writing career on “Scrubs,” where she also played the role of squeaky-voiced intern Josephine. She then joined the writing staff for Seth MacFarlane’s “The Cleveland Show” and provided the voice for the character Kendra Krinkelsac. In 2012, she signed a first-look deal with NBC and Universal Television, where she worked on several comedy series including “Marlon,” “Sunnyside” and “AP Bio.” In 2018, Batra wrote and created the NBC sitcom “I Feel Bad,” executive produced by Amy Poehler and starring Sarayu Blue. She also wrote on the FOX animated series “Duncanville,” where she voiced various characters alongside actors like Amy Poehler, Ty Burell and Rashida Jones.
A Baxley, Georgia, native, Batra attended the University of California, San Diego, and then obtained her graduate degree at University of Southern California before settling in California.
