Today, ABC Audio and “20/20” announced the new true crime limited series “The Snare,” which documents the case of 18-year-old Angie Dodge and the decades-long pursuit of justice in the search for the true killer. The new series, hosted by ABC News correspondent Maggie Rulli, debuts on Tuesday, June 16, in the wake of the 30th anniversary of Angie’s murder. “The Snare” trailer is available now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music and other major podcast platforms.

“The Snare” revisits the 1996 rape and gruesome murder of 18-year-old Angie Dodge, who was killed in her apartment in Idaho Falls. As investigators hunted for her killer, DNA recovered from the crime scene pointed to an unidentified suspect. Despite the evidence, they built their case against another man, Chris Tapp, securing a conviction that later unraveled while the real killer remained at large. The series features extended audio of several original interrogation tapes conducted in the case, including with Tapp.

Since launching as a true crime audio destination, ABC Audio series, including “Bad Rap: The Case Against Diddy,” “What Happened to Holly Bobo?” and “Devil in the Desert,” have been featured on Apple and Spotify Best of lists and dominated the podcast charts. “Devil in the Desert” became the most successful ABC Audio and “20/20” limited series ever, holding the No. 1 spot on Apple Podcasts’ Top Shows chart for more than three consecutive weeks.
