ABC NEWS IS #1 IN TOTAL VIEWERS ON SUNDAY MORNING, IN LATE-NIGHT AND ON FRIDAY NIGHT
‘This Week with George Stephanopoulos’ Ranks #1 in Total Viewers for the 14th Consecutive Week, Marking the Program’s Longest Run at No. 1 in More Than 2 ½ Years
‘Nightline’ Is #1 and Attracts Its Largest Overall Audience in 4 Months, Posting Gains Week to Week in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 and Turns in Double-Digit Increases Year to Year Across the Board

On Sunday, May 3, 2026, “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (2.569 million) for the 14th straight week, based on Live+Same Day Big Data Plus Panel Program Ratings from Nielsen Media Research.
- “This Week”’s Total Viewer win marked the program’s longest run at No. 1 in more than 2 ½ years — since 6/04-9/3/23.
- For the fifth Sunday running, “This Week” was the only Sunday public affairs program to grow year to year in Total Viewers (+6% – 2.569 million vs. 2.420 million).
- Season to date, “This Week” ranks No. 1 in Total Viewers (2.793 million) for the 5th season in a row, leading NBC’s “Meet the Press” (+188,000; vs. 2.605 million) and CBS’ “Face the Nation” 1 and 2 (+52,000; vs. 2.741 million), based on Most Current Big Data+Panel Ratings.
- In fact, “This Week” is increasing its Total Viewer leads over both NBC (+154% – 188,000 vs. 74,000) and CBS (+41% – 52,000 vs. 37,000) compared to the same point last season. Further, “This Week” is delivering its largest overall viewer lead over NBC’s “Meet the Press” in 30 years — since the 1995-1996 season.
- In addition, “This Week” is up in Total Viewers (+1% – 2.793 million vs. 2.777 million).
George Stephanopoulos is anchor, Martha Raddatz is chief global affairs correspondent and co-anchor, and Jonathan Karl is chief Washington correspondent and co-anchor of “This Week.”

ABC News’ “Nightline” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (987,000) for the week of April 27, 2026, based on Live+Same Day Big Data Plus Panel Program Ratings from Nielsen Media Research, defeating NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”
- “Nightline” posted gains week to week in Total Viewers (+6% – 987,000 vs. 931,000) and Adults 25-54 (+1% – 139,000 vs. 137,000). “Nightline” attracted its largest overall audience in 4 months — since w/o 12/22/25.
- “Nightline” turned in double-digit increases year to year across the board: Total Viewers (+24% – 987,000 vs. 798,000), Adults 25-54 (+15% – 139,000 vs. 121,000) and Adults 18-49 (+38% – 94,000 vs. 68,000).
- Season to date, “Nightline” is up in Total Viewers (+2% – 983,000 vs. 968,000) versus the comparable weeks last season.
NOTE: On Friday (5/1/26), NBC’s “Seth Meyers” was retitled to “Seth Meyers-SM.” The retitled telecast is excluded from the weekly and season averages. NBC’s weekly averages are based on four days (Monday-Thursday).

- Season to date, “20/20” leads “Dateline” in Total Viewers (+13%/+430,000 – 3.639 million vs. 3.209 million), based on Most Current Big Data+Panel Ratings. In addition, “20/20” is improving versus the comparable weeks last season in Total Viewers (+4%/+130,000 – 3.639 million vs. 3.509 million).
