ABC NEWS IS #1 IN TOTAL VIEWERS SUNDAY MORNING AND IN LATE-NIGHT
‘This Week with George Stephanopoulos’ Ranks #1 in Total Viewers for the 13th Consecutive Week, Marking the Program’s Longest Run at No. 1 in More Than 2 ½ Years, and Stands as the Only Sunday Public Affairs Program To Grow Both Year to Year and Week to Week in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54
‘Nightline’ Wins the Week in Total Viewers, Improves on the Previous Week and Hits 4-Week High Across the Board

On Sunday, April 26, 2026, “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (2.802 million) for the 13th consecutive week, based on Live+Same Day Big Data Plus Panel Program Ratings from Nielsen Media Research.
- “This Week” Total Viewer win marked the program’s longest run at No. 1 in more than 2 ½ years — since 6/11-9/3/23.
- “This Week” posted increases week to week in Total Viewers (+3% – 2.802 million vs. 2.724 million) and Adults 25-54 (+17% – 419,000 vs. 357,000), hitting an 8-week high in the key Adult news demo — since 3/1/26.
- “This Week” improved on the year-ago Sunday in Total Viewers (+5% – 2.802 million vs. 2.673 million) and Adults 25-54 (+3% – 419,000 vs. 406,000), standing as the only Sunday public affairs program to grow year to year in both measures.
- Season to date, “This Week” ranks No. 1 in Total Viewers (2.799 million) for the 5th season in a row, leading NBC’s “Meet the Press” (+181,000; vs. 2.618 million) and CBS’ “Face the Nation” 1 and 2 (+49,000; vs. 2.750 million), based on Most Current Big Data+Panel Ratings.
- In fact, “This Week” is increasing its Total Viewer leads by double digits over both NBC (+63% – 181,000 vs. 111,000) and CBS (+20% – 49,000 vs. 41,000) compared to the same point last season. Further, “This Week” is delivering its largest overall viewer lead over NBC’s “Meet the Press” in 30 years — since the 1995-1996 season.
- In addition, “This Week” is up in Total Viewers (2.799 million vs. 2.789 million).
George Stephanopoulos is anchor, Martha Raddatz is chief global affairs correspondent and co-anchor, and Jonathan Karl is chief Washington correspondent and co-anchor of “This Week.”

ABC News’ “Nightline” ranks No. 1 in Total Viewers (931,000) for the week of April 20, 2026, based on Live+Same Day Big Data Plus Panel Program Ratings from Nielsen Media Research, defeating NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”
- “Nightline” improved on the previous week in Total Viewers (+8% – 931,000 vs. 862,000), Adults 25-54 (+22% – 137,000 vs. 112,000) and Adults 18-49 (+22% – 96,000 vs. 79,000), hitting 4-week highs across the board — since w/o 3/23/26.
- “Nightline” was up year to year in Total Viewers (+8% – 931,000 vs. 862,000).
- Season to date, “Nightline” is up in Total Viewers (+1% – 982,000 vs. 971,000) versus the comparable weeks last season.
NOTE: On Friday (4/24/26), ABC’s “Nightline” was retitled to “NL-ABC” and NBC’s “Seth Meyers” was retitled to “Seth Meyers-SM.” ABC’s and NBC’s weekly averages are based on four days (Monday-Thursday).
