ABC NEWS IS NO. 1 IN TOTAL VIEWERS ON SUNDAY MORNING AND IN LATE NIGHT

On Sunday, July 5, 2026, “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (2.559 million) and Adults 25-54 (422,000), based on Live+Same Day Big Data Plus Panel Program Ratings from Nielsen Media Research.

• “This Week” posted increases week to week in Total Viewers (+8% – 2.559 million vs. 2.359 million) and Adults 25-54 (+56% – 422,000 vs. 270,000), scoring its top key news Adult performance in 10 weeks — since 4/26/26.
• “This Week” improved on the year-ago Sunday in Adults 25-54 (+20% – 422,000 vs. 352,000).
• Season to date, “This Week” ranks No. 1 in Total Viewers (2.751 million) for the 5th season in a row, leading NBC’s “Meet the Press” (+137,000; vs. 2.614 million) and CBS’ “Face the Nation” 1 and 2 (+66,000; vs. 2.685 million), based on Most Current Big Data+Panel Ratings.
• In fact, “This Week” is increasing its Total Viewer lead over NBC (+174% – 137,000 vs. 50,000) and CBS (+500% – 66,000 vs. 11,000) by triple digits compared to the same point last season. Further, “This Week” is delivering its largest overall viewer lead over NBC’s “Meet the Press” in 29 years — since the 1996-1997 season.
• In addition, “This Week” is up in Total Viewers (+1% – 2.751 million vs. 2.729 million), standing as the only Sunday public affairs program to grow in overall viewers.

“Nightline”
ABC News’ “Nightline” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (828,000) for the week of June 29, 2026, based on Live+Same Day Big Data Plus Panel Program Ratings from Nielsen Media Research, leading NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

• “Nightline” posted week-to-week gains in Total Viewers (+1% – 828,000 vs. 818,000) and Adults 18-49 (+10% – 80,000 vs. 73,000).
• For the second week in a row, “Nightline” increased on the year-ago week in Total Viewers (+8% – 828,000 vs. 765,000).
• Season to date, “Nightline” is up in Total Viewers (+3% – 986,000 vs. 954,000) versus the same point last season.

NOTE: On Friday (7/3/26), “Nightline” was coded as a special due to the Fourth of July holiday. The specialed telecast is excluded from the weekly averages. “Nightline”’s weekly averages are based on four days (Monday-Thursday). For the week, NBC’s “Seth Meyers” was retitled to “Seth Meyers-SM” due to being repeats. The retitled telecasts are excluded from the season averages.
