‘This Week’ Is the No. 1 Sunday Public Affairs Program in Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49 for the Third Straight Week, Growing Year to Year in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49
‘20/20’ Is Friday’s No. 1 Program on All Television in Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49, Improving Year to Year and Week to Week Across the Board
‘Nightline’ Ranks No. 1 in Adults 25-54, Growing Year to Year in Total Viewers for the Fourth Consecutive Week

On Sunday, July 19, 2026, “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (2.715 million), Adults 25-54 (344,000) and Adults 18-49 (283,000) for the third consecutive week, based on Live+Same Day Big Data Plus Panel Program Ratings from Nielsen Media Research.
- “This Week” improved on the same week last year in Total Viewers (+2% – 2.715 million vs. 2.673 million) and Adults 18-49 (+32% – 283,000 vs. 214,000).
- Season to date, “This Week” ranks No. 1 in Total Viewers (2.753 million) for the 5th season in a row, leading NBC’s “Meet the Press” (+146,000; vs. 2.607 million) and CBS’ “Face the Nation” 1 and 2 (+82,000; vs. 2.671 million), based on Most Current Big Data+Panel Ratings.
- In fact, “This Week” is increasing its Total Viewer leads over NBC (+152% – 146,000 vs. 58,000) and CBS (+257% – 82,000 vs. 23,000) by triple digits compared to the same point last season. Further, “This Week” is delivering its largest overall viewer lead over NBC’s “Meet the Press” in 30 years — since the 1995-1996 season.
- In addition, “This Week” is up in Total Viewers (+1% – 2.753 million vs. 2.726 million), standing as the only Sunday public affairs program to grow in overall viewers.
NOTE: NBC’s “Meet the Press” was preempted for R&A Open Championship Golf.

ABC News’ “20/20: Where Are You Jacob” ranked as the night’s No.1 program on broadcast and cable in Total Viewers (3.157 million), Adults 25-54 (531,000) and Adults 18-49 (358,000) on Friday, July 17, 2026, based on Live+Same Day Big Data Plus Panel Program Ratings from Nielsen Media Research, leading NBC’s “Dateline” (2.015 million, 381,000 and 241,000) across the board.
- “20/20” was up over the previous week in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+33% – 3.157 million vs. 2.380 million), Adults 25-54 (+58% – 531,000 vs. 336,000) and Adults 18-49 (+52% – 358,000 vs. 235,000), posting its strongest news demo performance in 2 months — since 5/15/26.
- “20/20” improved year to year across the board: Total Viewers (+39% – 3.157 million vs. 2.270 million), Adults 25-54 (+68% – 531,000 vs. 316,000) and Adults 18-49 (+55% – 358,000 vs. 231,000).
- Season to date, “20/20” leads “Dateline” in Total Viewers (+16%/+519,000 – 3.705 million vs. 3.186 million), based on Most Current Big Data+Panel Ratings. In addition, “20/20” is improving versus the comparable weeks last season in Total Viewers (+5%/+193,000 – 3.705 million vs. 3.512 million).
“Nightline”
ABC News’ “Nightline” ranked No. 1 in Adults 25-54 (116,000) for the week of July 13, 2026, based on Live+Same Day Big Data Plus Panel Program Ratings from Nielsen Media Research, leading NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”
- For the fourth week in a row, “Nightline” was up on the year-ago week in Total Viewers (+2% – 736,000 vs. 725,000).
- Season to date, “Nightline” is up in Total Viewers (+3% – 979,000 vs. 948,000) versus the same point last season.
NOTE: On Friday (7/17/26), NBC’s “Seth Meyers” was retitled to “Seth Meyers-SM.” NBC’s weekly averages are based on four days (Monday-Thursday).
