ABC NEWS WINS ACROSS LATE NIGHT, SUNDAY MORNING AND FRIDAY NIGHT IN TOTAL VIEWERS AND KEY ADULT DEMOS

ABC News’ “Nightline” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (827,000), Adults 25-54 (163,000) and Adults 18-49 (110,000) for the week of July 20, 2026, based on Live+Same Day Big Data Plus Panel Program Ratings from Nielsen Media Research, leading NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”
- “Nightline” posted double-digit gains week to week in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+12% – 827,000 vs. 736,000), Adults 25-54 (+41% – 163,000 vs. 116,000) and Adults 18-49 (+51% – 110,000 vs. 73,000), hitting a 6-week high in the key Adult news demo — since w/o 6/8/26.
- “Nightline” also turned in double-digit increases year to year: Total Viewers (+23% – 827,000 vs. 673,000), Adults 25-54 (+52% – 163,000 vs. 107,000) and Adults 18-49 (+80% – 110,000 vs. 61,000).
- Season to date, “Nightline” is up in Total Viewers (+4% – 976,000 vs. 942,000) versus the same point last season.
NOTE: On Friday (7/24/26), NBC’s “Seth Meyers” was retitled to “Seth Meyers-SM.” NBC’s weekly averages are based on four days (Monday-Thursday).

On Sunday, July 26, 2026, “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (2.616 million) and Adults 18-49 (255,000) for the fourth straight week, based on Live+Same Day Big Data Plus Panel Program Ratings from Nielsen Media Research.
- “This Week” scored across-the-board increases year to year: Total Viewers (+7% – 2.616 million vs. 2.436 million), Adults 25-54 (+20% – 344,000 vs. 287,000) and Adults 18-49 (+47% – 255,000 vs. 173,000).
- Season to date, “This Week” ranks No. 1 in Total Viewers (2.751 million) for the 5th season in a row, leading NBC’s “Meet the Press” (+151,000; vs. 2.600 million) and CBS’ “Face the Nation” 1 and 2 (+91,000; vs. 2.660 million), based on Most Current Big Data+Panel Ratings.
- In fact, “This Week” is increasing its Total Viewer leads over NBC (+144% – 151,000 vs. 62,000) and CBS (+435% – 91,000 vs. 17,000) by triple digits compared to the same point last season. Further, “This Week” is delivering its largest overall viewer lead over NBC’s “Meet the Press” in 30 years — since the 1995-1996 season.
- In addition, “This Week” is up in Total Viewers (+1% – 2.751 million vs. 2.720 million), standing as the only Sunday public affairs program to grow in overall viewers.

- “20/20” saw double-digit gains across the board year to year: Total Viewers (+20% – 2.356 million vs. 1.964 million), Adults 25-54 (+24% – 399,000 vs. 323,000) and Adults 18-49 (+12% – 259,000 vs. 231,000).
- Season to date, “20/20” leads “Dateline” in Total Viewers (+17%/+546,000 – 3.740 million vs. 3.194 million), based on Most Current Big Data+Panel Ratings. In addition, “20/20” is improving versus the comparable weeks last season in Total Viewers (+6%/+228,000 – 3.740 million vs. 3.512 million).
