ABC’S ‘WORLD NEWS TONIGHT WITH DAVID MUIR’ LEADS NBC BY 1.6 MILLION AND IS #1 NEWSCAST ON BROADCAST AND CABLE ACROSS THE BOARD

“World News Tonight with David Muir” ranked as the No. 1 evening newscast in all of broadcast and cable in Total Viewers (7.755 million), Adults 25-54 (949,000) and Adults 18-49 (679,000) during the week of Oct. 27, 2025, based on Live+Same Day Big Data Plus Panel Program Ratings from Nielsen Media Research.

• “World News Tonight” outdelivered “NBC Nightly News” (6.155 million, 848,000 and 559,000, respectively) by 1.600 million Total Viewers, by 101,000 Adults 25-54 and by 123,000 Adults 18-49.
• “World News Tonight” improved on the previous week’s Adults 25-54 (+3%/+24,000 – 949,000 vs. 925,000) and Adults 18-49 (+6%/+41,000 – 679,000 vs. 638,000), hitting season highs in both measures. In fact, “World News Tonight” posted its strongest Adults 18-49 performance in 13 weeks — since w/o 7/28/25.
• “World News Tonight” was up on the same week last year in Total Viewers (+2%/+154,000 – 7.755 million vs. 7.601 million) and Adults 18-49 (+6%/+36,000 – 679,000 vs. 643,000).
• “World News Tonight” (7.755 million, 949,000 and 479,000, respectively) defeated “CBS Evening News” (4.070 million, 491,000 and 363,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+91%/+3.685 million), Adults 25-54 (+93%/+458,000) and Adults 18-49 (+87%/+316,000).
• Season to date, “World News Tonight” (7.552 million) is ranking No. 1 in Total Viewers for the 10th straight year, based on Most Current Big Data+Panel Ratings. “World News Tonight” is leading “NBC Nightly News” (5.825 million) by 1.727 million and “CBS Evening News” (3.799 million) by 3.753 million. In addition, “World News Tonight” is delivering its largest Total Viewer season lead over the CBS program in at least 34 years — since at least the 1991-1992 season; the Nielsen electronic database started in September 1991.
• “World News Tonight” is ranking No. 1 in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49 for the 7th season in a row. “World News Tonight” (900,000 and 625,000, respectively) is leading NBC (799,000 and 535,000, respectively) by 101,000 Adults 25-54 and by 90,000 Adults 18-49. Additionally, “World News Tonight” is widening margins with “CBS Evening News” (442,000 and 321,000, respectively) by double digits in Adults 25-54 (+20% – 458,000 vs. 383,000) and Adults 18-49 (+19% – 304,000 vs. 255,000) versus the comparable weeks last season.

NOTE: On Monday (10/27/25), “World News Tonight” was retitled to “WNT-ABC” due to the NFL. On Friday (10/31/25), “World News Tonight” was also retitled to “WNT-ABC” and “CBS Evening News” was retitled to “CBS Evening Nws.” The retitled telecasts are excluded from the weekly and season averages. ABC’s weekly averages are based on three days (Tuesday-Thursday), and CBS’ weekly averages are based on four days (Monday-Thursday).
