“World News Tonight with David Muir” stood as the No. 1 program of the week in Total Viewers (7.144 million) on all of broadcast and cable during the week of June 30, 2025, based on Live+Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “World News Tonight” has been the No. 1 most-watched program on television for the 8th straight week (with and without sports).

• “World News Tonight” ranked as the No. 1 newscast across broadcast and cable in Total Viewers (7.177 million), Adults 25-54 (989,000) and Adults 18-49 (684,000).
• “World News Tonight” outperformed “NBC Nightly News” (5.501 million, 767,000 and 497,000, respectively) by 1.676 million Total Viewers, by 222,000 Adults 25-54 and by 187,000 Adults 18-49.
• “World News Tonight” increased its lead over “NBC Nightly News” week to week across the board: Total Viewers (+5% – 1.676 million vs. 1.601 million), Adults 25-54 (+13% – 222,000 vs. 197,000) and Adults 18-49 (+6% – 187,000 vs. 177,000). In fact, “World News Tonight” turned in its largest news demo lead in 10 weeks — since w/o 4/21/25.
• “World News Tonight” (7.177 million, 989,000 and 684,000, respectively) beat “CBS Evening News” (3.736 million, 466,000 and 357,000, respectively) by 3.441 million Total Viewers, by 523,000 Adults 25-54 and by 327,000 Adults 18-49.
• For the 17th consecutive week, “World News Tonight” increased its lead over “CBS Evening News” year to year in Total Viewers (+18% – 3.441 million vs. 2.909 million), Adults 25-54 (+40% – 523,000 vs. 373,000) and Adults 18-49 (+35% – 327,000 vs. 242,000).
• Season to date, “World News Tonight” (7.708 million) is ranking No. 1 in Total Viewers for the 9th consecutive year, based on Most Current Data. “World News Tonight” is leading “NBC Nightly News” (6.133 million) by 1.575 million and “CBS Evening News” (4.286 million) by 3.422 million. In fact, “World News Tonight” is growing its Total Viewer lead over NBC compared to the same point last season (+17% – 1.575 million vs. 1.344 million) to its largest in 30 years — since the 1994-1995 season. In addition, “World News Tonight” is increasing its Total Viewer season margin versus “CBS Evening News” by 10% (3.422 million vs. 3.103 million) to its largest in 4 years — since the 2020-2021 season.
• “World News Tonight” is ranking No. 1 in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49 for the 6th straight season. Season to date, “World News Tonight” (1.082 million and 749,000, respectively) is leading NBC (898,000 and 594,000, respectively), increasing its margins from the same point last season in Adults 25-54 (+29% – 184,000 vs. 143,000) and Adults 18-49 (+44% – 155,000 vs. 108,000).
• In addition, “World News Tonight” is widening margins with “CBS Evening News” (607,000 and 414,000, respectively) by double digits in Adults 25-54 (+15% – 475,000 vs. 414,000) and Adults 18-49 (+18% – 335,000 vs. 283,000).

NOTE: On Thursday (7/3/25), “World News Tonight” was retitled to “WNT-ABC.” On Friday (7/4/25), all three programs were coded as specials due to the 4th of July holiday. The retitled and specialed telecasts are excluded from the weekly and season averages. ABC’s weekly averages are based on three days (Monday-Wednesday), while CBS’ and NBC’s averages are based on four days (Monday-Thursday).
