‘This Week’ Delivers Largest Season Advantage Over NBC in 29 Years

‘This Week’ Is the Only Sunday Public Affairs Program To Grow in Total Viewers This Season

‘This Week’ Wins the Week Across the Board, Growing Year to Year and Week to Week in All Key Demos

2025-2026 Season

For the 2025-2026 season, “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” ranked as the No. 1 Sunday public affairs program in Total Viewers (2.726 million) for the fifth consecutive season — since the 2021-22 season — leading NBC’s “Meet the Press” (2.588 million) by 138,000 and CBS’ “Face the Nation” (2.634 million) by 92,000, based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research.

  • “This Week” increased its Total Viewer season advantage over NBC’s “Meet the Press” (+393% – 138,000 vs. 28,000) compared to last season, delivering its largest overall viewer lead in 29 years — since the 1996-1997 season.
  • “This Week” grew in Total Viewers (+2% – 2.726 million vs. 2.665 million) versus the previous season, standing as the only Sunday public affairs program to grow in overall viewers.

On Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026, “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” ranked No. 1 across the board: Total Viewers (2.509 million), Adults 25-54 (352,000) and Adults 18-49 (286,000), based on Live+Same Day Big Data Plus Panel Program Ratings from Nielsen Media Research.

  • “This Week” improved on the previous week in Total Viewers (+9% – 2.509 million vs. 2.298 million), Adults 25-54 (+9% – 352,000 vs. 323,000) and Adults 18-49 (+6% – 286,000 vs. 271,000), hitting a 2-month high in both key Adult demos — since 7/12/26.
  • “This Week” scored double-digit gains year to year in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+11% – 2.509 million vs. 2.266 million), Adults 25-54 (+26% – 352,000 vs. 280,000) and Adults 18-49(+58% – 286,000 vs. 181,000).

George Stephanopoulos is anchor, Martha Raddatz is chief global affairs correspondent and co-anchor, and Jonathan Karl is chief Washington correspondent and co-anchor of “This Week.” Jon Schlosberg is the executive producer.
