‘GOOD MORNING AMERICA’ DELIVERS EIGHTH STRAIGHT WEEK OF YEAR-TO-YEAR GROWTH IN TOTAL VIEWERS AND ADULTS 18-49

‘GMA’ Defeats ‘CBS Mornings’ in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 for the 1,442nd Consecutive Week

Season to Date, ‘GMA’ Is Growing Year to Year in Both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49

“Good Morning America” averaged 2.717 million Total Viewers, 457,000 Adults 25-54 and 344,000 Adults 18-49 during the week of Aug. 31, 2026, based on Live+Same Day Big Data Plus Panel Program Ratings from Nielsen Media Research. 

  • For the eighth straight week, “GMA” grew year to year in Total Viewers (+3% – 2.717 million vs. 2.637 million) and Adults 18-49 (+11% – 344,000 vs. 309,000).

  • “GMA” (2.717 million, 457,000 and 344,000, respectively) defeated “CBS Mornings” (1.601 million, 270,000 and 185,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+1.116 million), Adults 25-54 (+187,000) and Adults 18-49 (+159,000). In addition, “GMA” led “CBS Mornings” in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 for the last 1,442 weeks overall — since w/o 1/18/99.
  • Season to date, “GMA” is up in Total Viewers (+1% – 2.835 million vs. 2.794 million) and Adults 18-49 (+10% – 333,000 vs. 303,000) compared to the same point last year.

NOTE: On Friday (9/4/26), “Good Morning America” was retitled to “GMA-ABC” and “Today” was retitled to “Today-TS.” The retitled telecasts are excluded from the weekly and season averages. Weekly and season averages for “Good Morning America” and “Today” are based on four days (Monday-Thursday).

“GMA3” averaged 1.332 million Total Viewers, 121,000 Women 25-54 and 89,000 Women 18-49 during the week of Aug. 31, 2026, based on Live+Same Day Big Data Plus Panel Program Ratings from Nielsen Media Research.

  • For the second week in a row, “GMA3” improved on the same week last year by double digits in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+11% – 1.332 million vs. 1.199 million), Women 25-54 (+22% – 121,000 vs. 99,000) and Women 18-49 (+20% – 89,000 vs. 74,000).

NOTE: On Thursday (9/3/26) and Friday (9/4/26), “NBC News Daily” was retitled to “NBC News Daily-ND.” On Friday, “GMA3” was retitled to “GMA3-ABC.” The retitled telecasts are excluded from the weekly and season averages. “GMA3”’s weekly averages are based on four days (Monday-Thursday) and “NBC News Daily”’s weekly averages are based on three days (Monday-Wednesday).
