‘This Week with George Stephanopoulos’ Ranks No. 1 in Total Viewers for the 16th Consecutive Week — the Longest Streak in Over 32 Years

‘This Week’ Is No. 1 for 5th Consecutive Season, Delivering Its Largest Overall Viewer Lead Over NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’ in 30 Years

On Sunday, May 17, 2026, “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (2.484 million) for the 16th consecutive week, based on Live+Same Day Big Data Plus Panel Program Ratings from Nielsen Media Research.

  • “This Week”’s Total Viewer victory marked the program’s longest stretch at No. 1 in more than 32 years — since 9/4-12/18/94.
  • “This Week” posted increases week to week in Total Viewers (+7% – 2.484 million vs. 2.325 million) and Adults 25-54 (+15% – 338,000 vs. 293,000).
  • For the seventh week running, “This Week” improved on the year-ago Sunday in Total Viewers (+3% – 2.484 million vs. 2.416 million), standing as the only Sunday public affairs program to grow its overall audience year to year.
  • Season to date, “This Week” ranks No. 1 in Total Viewers (2.772 million) for the 5th season in a row, leading NBC’s “Meet the Press” (+193,000; vs. 2.579 million) and CBS’ “Face the Nation” 1 and 2 (+63,000; vs. 2.709 million), based on Most Current Big Data+Panel Ratings.
  • In fact, “This Week” is increasing its Total Viewer leads by triple digits over both NBC (+271% – 193,000 vs. 52,000) and CBS (+152% – 63,000 vs. 25,000) compared to the same point last season. Further, “This Week” is delivering its largest overall viewer lead over NBC’s “Meet the Press” in 30 years — since the 1995-1996 season.
  • In addition, “This Week” is up in Total Viewers (+1% – 2.772 million vs. 2.752 million).

George Stephanopoulos is anchor, Martha Raddatz is chief global affairs correspondent and co-anchor, and Jonathan Karl is chief Washington correspondent and co-anchor of “This Week.” Jon Schlosberg is the executive producer.
