National Correspondent Stephanie Ramos Chronicles ‘Blood and Water,’ a Cold-Case Murder Breakthrough in Washington, D.C., as First-Time Podcast Host, Launching April 21

Two all-new limited-series true crime podcasts from ABC Audio and “20/20” will launch on all major podcasting platforms this spring. “Bridge of Lies,” hosted by multiple Emmy® Award-winning “Nightline” co-anchor Juju Chang, documents the disappearance, betrayal and murder of 19-year-old Sarah Stern and the sting operation that exposed her murderer, premiering March 10. “Blood and Water,” hosted by Emmy-nominated national correspondent Stephanie Ramos, details the decades-long cold case murder of Washington, D.C., resident Leslie Preer, launching April 21.
In December 2016, 19-year-old Sarah Stern vanished from her New Jersey hometown after her car was found abandoned near a bridge overlooking the Shark River. What authorities initially believed to be a suicide soon unraveled into a homicide investigation that revealed a surprising, personal twist. “Bridge of Lies” reports on the case and features audio of interviews with investigators, 911 calls and a police sting operation that helped put Sarah’s murderer behind bars. The series explores a story about friendship, greed and the terrifying realization that the person you trust most may be capable of the unthinkable.
Known for her decade of investigative reporting on “Nightline,” Chang makes her podcasting debut with the series, bringing her natural storytelling talent and trusted voice to the audio space. The trailer for “Bridge of Lies” is available now on Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, Spotify and other major podcast platforms.
“Blood and Water” examines the 23-year cold case murder of Leslie Preer, who was found brutally murdered in 2001, her body left in the shower of her home in the wealthy suburbs of Washington, D.C. Investigators initially set their sights on Leslie’s husband as the prime suspect, until bombshell DNA evidence revealed the presence of an unknown male at the scene. With extensive access to the original police tapes, interviews with Preer’s friends and family, and with the cold case detectives who worked to solve the crime, “Blood and Water” tells the story of a decades-long wait for justice for Leslie’s daughter, and the cutting-edge investigative techniques that finally caught the killer.
Drawing on her original reporting, Ramos now brings the case to the podcast space as a first-time host. Subscribe and follow “20/20” on all major podcast platforms to listen when the series premieres.
Since launching as a true crime audio destination, ABC Audio series, including “Bad Rap: The Case Against Diddy,” “What Happened to Holly Bobo?” and “Devil in the Desert,” have been featured on Apple and Spotify Best of lists and dominated the podcast charts. “Devil in the Desert” became the most successful ABC Audio and “20/20” limited series ever, holding the No. 1 spot on Apple Podcasts’ Top Shows chart for more than three consecutive weeks.
