WITH NEARLY 8 MILLION VIEWERS, ABC’S ‘WORLD NEWS TONIGHT WITH DAVID MUIR’ IS #1 IN TOTAL VIEWERS, 25-54 AND 18-49 — LEADING NBC BY 1.5 MILLION VIEWERS

“World News Tonight with David Muir” ranked as the No. 1 newscast in all of broadcast and cable in Total Viewers (7.939 million), Adults 25-54 (995,000) and Adults 18-49 (714,000) during the week of Nov. 17, 2025, based on Live+Same Day Big Data Plus Panel Program Ratings from Nielsen Media Research.

• “World News Tonight” outdelivered “NBC Nightly News” (6.440 million, 864,000 and 594,000, respectively) by 1.499 million Total Viewers, by 131,000 Adults 25-54 and by 120,000 Adults 18-49.
• “World News Tonight” increased its lead over “NBC Nightly News” week to week in Total Viewers (+67% – 1.499 million vs. 896,000), Adults 25-54 (+105% – 131,000 vs. 64,000) and Adults 18-49 (+6% – 120,000 vs. 113,000), posting its largest leads in Adult 25-54 in 5 weeks — since w/o 10/13/25.
• “World News Tonight” improved on the previous week in Total Viewers (+5%/+367,000 – 7.939 million vs. 7.572 million), Adults 25-54 (+4%/+35,000 – 995,000 vs. 960,000) and Adults 18-49 (+4%/+25,000 – 714,000 vs. 689,000), hitting season highs across the board. In fact, “World News Tonight” drew its largest overall audience in 8 months and top key Adult new demo performance in 4 months — since weeks of 3/17/25 and 7/7/25, respectively.
• “World News Tonight” (7.939 million, 995,000 and 714,000, respectively) defeated “CBS Evening News” (4.137 million, 529,000 and 366,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+92%/+3.802 million), Adults 25-54 (+88%/+466,000) and Adults 18-49 (+95%/+348,000).
• Season to date, “World News Tonight” (7.636 million) is ranking No. 1 in Total Viewers for the 10th straight year based on Most Current Big Data+Panel Ratings. “World News Tonight” is leading “NBC Nightly News” (6.102 million) by 1.534 million and “CBS Evening News” (3.941 million) by 3.695 million. In addition, “World News Tonight” is delivering its largest Total Viewer season lead over the CBS program in at least 34 years — since at least the 1991-1992 season; the Nielsen electronic database started in September 1991.
• “World News Tonight” is ranking No. 1 in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49 for the 7th season in a row. “World News Tonight” (920,000 and 643,000, respectively) is leading NBC (834,000 and 560,000, respectively) by 86,000 Adults 25-54 and by 83,000 Adults 18-49. Additionally, “World News Tonight” is widening margins with “CBS Evening News” (477,000 and 346,000, respectively) by double digits in Adults 25-54 (+20% – 443,000 vs. 370,000) and Adults 18-49 (+23% – 297,000 vs. 241,000) versus the comparable weeks last season.

NOTE: On Monday (11/17/25), “World News Tonight” was retitled to “WNT-ABC” due to the NFL. ABC’s weekly averages are based on four days (Tuesday-Friday).
