Jeremy Siefer

Jeremy Siefer is a Los Angeles-based, Emmy® Award-winning documentary editor. He began his career in music videos and performance documentaries, covering global artists from São Paulo to Singapore. In one way or another, music has shaped Siefer’s filmmaking path ever since — a search for the rhythm and resonance of human life.

Siefer moved to New York City in 2001, where he cut his teeth editing for HBO Studio Productions and New York Times Television. After stints on PBS flagships “Frontline” and “History Detectives,” he became the lead editor and senior producer for Part2 Pictures in Brooklyn, helming editorial on Oprah Winfrey’s “Belief” (OWN/Discovery) and “Dark Net” (Showtime).

In 2016, Siefer moved to Los Angeles, where he made his name on premium doc series, including “Trafficked with Mariana van Zeller” (National Geographic), “Shut up and Dribble” (Showtime) and “Messi’s World Cup: The Rise of a Legend” (Apple TV). Next, Siefer became a lead editor for Lightbox Entertainment, cutting features and series for HBO (“Yusuf Hawkins: Storm Over Brooklyn”), Netflix (“Blood Brothers: Malcolm X & Muhammad Ali,” “Murder Mountain”) and National Geographic (“Hurricane Katrina: Race Against Time”). Siefer’s recent work has sought to explore and elevate the form of the historical documentary, crafting stories about the past that illuminate and interrogate the present.
