Three men in the World Trade Center’s north tower were heading up in an elevator when the first plane hit their building. In the elevator with them is one of the World Trade Center’s window cleaners, and when they became trapped, he took the lead and hacked their way out, allowing them all to escape. After 25 years, they reunite to thank the window cleaner for the lives they have gone on to live. When the second plane crashes into the south tower, falling debris gravely injures a woman on her way to work. A bystander stays with her in the street and wills her to stay conscious, protecting her from a stampede of fleeing people. He calls frantically for an ambulance to stop, and miraculously, one does. Meeting for the first time since 9/11, Debbie shows Stefan how far she’s come and tells him the impact his actions have had on her life.

102. 9:07 AM – 10:15 AM

First responders rushed to the scene after hijacked planes crashed into the twin towers on 9/11. Kevin, a firefighter, and Al, a paramedic, are right under the south tower when it collapses. Al miraculously survives unhurt and finds a badly injured Kevin. Al stabilized Kevin and carried him to a place of safety. Meeting for the first time since, Al fills in the gaps of Kevin’s memory, and Kevin thanks him for saving his life. When a third plane struck the Pentagon, Lt. Col. Marilyn Wills led five colleagues to a window, which they kicked open. At ground level, Navy SEAL Craig urged them to jump. He caught Marilyn as she fell, moments before she lost consciousness from smoke inhalation. Meeting for the first time since, Marilyn finally thanks Craig for saving her life, while Craig reminds her that they both played a part in saving lives.

103. 10:15 AM September 11 – 7:45 AM September 12

When the south tower collapsed on September 11, firefighter Bill was trapped in the north tower. There, he met NYPD officer John. As they worked together to evacuate people, the two talked about their families. But when the north tower also collapsed, John was killed. After 25 years, Bill meets John's wife and two sons to share John's final moments and tell them he was thinking of his family until the very end. Port Authority officer John McLoughlin was trapped and critically injured but miraculously survived the collapse of both towers. Retired firefighter Scott and NYPD officer John Busching spent hours helping dig him out of the rubble. Twenty-five years later, they reunite as John thanks the men who saved his life and honors the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice on 9/11.
